And here is the new design.
We had some room above the waste containers so we added a rollout for kitchen accessories.
The drawers and rollouts are all on full extension soft close slides.
A closer view of the end treatment
The light switches had to be moved from the wall to the cabinet side
Behind the door on the far left are 2 rollouts for cleaning supplies.
This is the original corner next to the frig. It was a constant battle to avoid clutter so we took it out and built a multi functional pantry as shown below.
Wandermere Kitchen Upgrade
The front upper section has adjustable shelves. The right side upper section has a little cubbie cabinet where the phone is kept
on a charger. We added adjustable shelves here as well as shown below.
On the left of the sink are dual waste containers.
Both ends of the island were dressed with non functional door and drawer panels.
Here is the business side of the island before we started work.
Here is the new island. We dropped the higher breakfast bar, made the top all one height and added cabinets to each end.
This is a photo of the island before we did any work.
This portfolio shows the before and after of the kitchen island and desk in the home of John & Leslie Akins in the Wandermere area Golden Eagle Estates. The general contractor was Wayne Terry of White Water Const., Medical Lake. I did all of the woodwork that included the island and the pantry.
